Concrete Reference Electrode

GTS’s Ti-C101 is a permanent pseudo-reference electrode for potential monitoring in steel
structure adjacent to concrete.
It consists of a mixed metal oxide (MMO) activated titanium probe, cast in a specially developed
cementitious body contained in a plastic tube.

The cementitious backfill provides constant pH around the activated titanium sensor and long-
term stability of the electrochemical potential.

Specifications
  • Contamination with chloride ions does not affect, for practical purposes, the potential value
    and potential stability.
  • Part No.: Ti-C101
  • Potential : – 80 ± 20 mV Vs. Saturated Calomel Electrode , – 135 ± 20 mV Vs. Cu/CuSO4,sat . These are typical values, measured after half an hour soaking in saturated Ca(OH)2 at 25C°
  • Average Potential while in service: +110 ± 20 mV Vs. Cu/CuSO4,sat (Note: the difference between the values measured in limewater and concrete are due to junction potentials which develop when the concrete body is put into liquid solutions)
  • Cable: 5 meters of 4 mm2 rubber sheathed copper cable, black colour
  • Service Life: 20-30 years
