The GTS’s CGA (Concrete Galvanic Anode) is a unique galvanic anode unit based on special zinc encased in a specially formulated conductive mortar which prevents and controls corrosion of reinforcement steel. CGA (Zinc Alloy ASTM B 418, Type II) acts by way of sacrificing before steel
which extends the life of reinforcement in concrete and provides a safeguard against premature cracking and rust staining of the concrete.
In repair & rehabilitation of concrete structures, slabs, columns, beams, Marine structures, Water retaining structures, Industrial units, and Coastal area structures. In repair & rehabilitation of concrete structures like Slabs, Columns, Beams etc. Marine concrete structures Water retains concrete structures Concrete structures in industrial units Coastal area concrete structures Prestressed concrete post-tensioning anchors.
Loose concrete shall be removed from around and behind all corroding rebar in accordance with good concrete repair practice (ICRI Guideline No.03730). Soak the CGA units in clean water for 15-20 minutes before installation. Securely fasten the unit to clean reinforcing steel using a suitable wire twisting tool/pliers on the side or beneath the rebar to eliminate free movement and to ensure a good electrical connection. Steel continuity within the patch should be verified with an appropriate meter. If discontinuous steel is present, re-establish continuity with steel tie wires. Following the unit installation, electrical connection between the unit tie wires and the clean reinforcing bar should be confirmed with an appropriate meter.
The location and spacing of the units shall be as specified by the designer. Units are typically tied on
the side or beneath the exposed rebar as close as practical to the surrounding concrete making sure
that enough space is left to fully encapsulate the unit in the repair material. Minimum cover over the
units must be 20 mm. Units can be placed on a grid pattern throughout the repair area.

Storage & Handling
Store the material in a cool place away from direct sunlight or any source of ignition and fire. Keep
away from the reach of children in a well-ventilated place.
Spacing
As per CP System designer’s / specifier’s recommendation as well as required polarization shift.
Health & Safety Precautions
Wear protective gloves, goggles, and nose masks while handling and using the material. In case of
splashes on the skin and contact with eyes wash thoroughly with plenty of water. In case of ingestion
and inhalation remove the personnel to fresh air. Seek medical advice in all the above cases. The
disposal of excess or spilled material shall be carried out in accordance with local regulations.
